2026 Kasamatsu Minato Park Splash Pond and Babbling Waterway Full-Day Course
A full-day neighborhood outing course starring the splash pond and babbling waterway at Kasamatsu Minato Park, on the banks of the Kiso River in Kasamatsu Town, Hashima District. Both the splash pond and the babbling waterway are free to use, and with play equipment and a lawn plaza on hand as well, you can spend the day as you like: playground when the water gets old, lawn when you need a rest. The 2026 operating period has not been announced, so be sure to check the official Kasamatsu Town website before you set out. The word minato (port) in the park's name comes from the fact that this place was once Kasamatsu Port, bustling with river shipping on the Kiso River. In the morning, trace with your children how the town grew as a river port at the Kasamatsu Town History and Future Museum. Then head to the Dragonfly Paradise spread along the banks of the Kiso River. It is a protected area home to many species of dragonfly, and summer is truly their peak season. At lunch, lay out a packed meal on the park lawn, take a turn on the playground, and then move on to the water. Standing on the Kiso River embankment, you really feel how close the river runs. After walking through the history and nature of a river town, the day ends by getting wet.
