2026: Full-Day Course at the Jabu-Jabu Riverbed, Kisogawa Suien, Kasen Kankyo Rakuen
A full-day local outing course built around the Jabu-Jabu Riverbed at Kisogawa Suien, part of Kiso Sansen National Government Park (国営木曽三川公園) in Kakamigahara City. The riverbed is open during Kisogawa Suien opening hours, and in summer you can play there from 9:30 to 18:00. Although it is a man-made waterside, it is shallow with a gentle flow, so even small children not yet used to river play can wade in on their own two feet. Admission is free, so you can head out on a whim. From Saturday, July 18 to Sunday, August 23, the Summer Paradise Festival is held, with seasonal events such as catching ayu sweetfish by hand. In the morning, learn about the creatures of the Kiso River and how nature works through exhibits and hands-on activities at the Nature Discovery Center inside the same park. Take a leisurely lunch at neighboring Oasis Park and pick up any drinks or spare clothes you still need. In the afternoon, stroll through the water park to enjoy the waterwheels and farmhouse scenery, then head to the Jabu-Jabu Riverbed. Play in the water until evening and still pack up and head home while it is light out, at a comfortable pace.
