2026 Seiryu Peace Park Babbling Waterway: A Full-Day Course

This is a full-day local outing course starring the Babbling Waterway at Seiryu Peace Park (清流平和公園) in Kitagata Town, Motosu District. The waterway runs from April to September, between 10:00 and 15:00. It is built shallow so children can enjoy the water safely, meaning even small children who cannot swim yet can play while walking on their own feet. Use is free, and with combination playground equipment and an arbor on site, you can move freely between water and play equipment, or take a break in the shade when tired. The park also has a Peace Bell and a micro hydroelectric generator, so you can show children how flowing water produces electricity, which is unique to this park. Spend the morning at Enkyoji Temple (円鏡寺), the town's symbol. Pass through the massive two-story gate, walk the grounds, and enjoy the morning at the pond and playground of the adjacent Enkyoji Park (円鏡寺公園). At midday, have lunch and shop at nearby Malera Gifu to wait out the hottest hours in cool comfort indoors. Return to the park in the afternoon and it will be exactly when the waterway is flowing. Water may not flow in bad weather or on maintenance days, so checking before you set out is recommended.
