2026 Harayama Citizens Park (原山市民公園) Waterside: Full-Day Course
A full-day local outing course starring the Harayama Citizens Park Waterside (shallow stream and stepped cascade) in Takayama City. There is a wide, gently flowing shallow stream and a stepped cascade where the water falls in tiers, and because there are no deep spots, even small children can play while walking on their own two feet. Use is free, and the park itself is open all day. However, the operating period for the water play area has not been announced, so be sure to check the Takayama City information before you set out. Inside the park there is a large play structure, a lawn plaza, grass sledding, a dog run and even a barbecue area, so the fun never runs out even if you stay all day, which is the charm of this park. Spend the morning at Hida Folk Village. Old Hida farmhouses, gassho-style ones among them, have been relocated here, preserving intact the wisdom of living in a land of deep snow. Next, enjoy the beauty of glass art together at the Hida Takayama Museum of Art (飛驒高山美術館). After lunch, move to the park, get your bodies moving on the play equipment and grass sleds first, and then at last to the waterside. In the cool air of the Hida mountains, you can play in the water until evening.
