2026 Tamashima Forest Fountain Plaza Full-Day Course

A course for a full day of play close to home, starring Tamashima Forest Fountain Plaza in Tamashima, Kurashiki City. It is a plaza with a large fountain rising about 5 meters, where in summer you can play to your heart's content in the spray. It usually runs from mid-June to mid-September, roughly 9:00 to 18:00, varying with the weather, but the specific 2026 dates have not been announced, so please check before you set out. The park has play equipment renewed in June 2024, including a newly built area for toddlers, so even small children can play safely. There is a stone clock tower, a wisteria trellis, and shaded benches, making it easy for accompanying adults to rest, which is a welcome touch. An outdoor pool (paid, a separate facility) is also on site, so you can mix and match according to the mood of the day. In the morning, enjoy the view of the Seto Inland Sea from Entsuji Temple Park (円通寺公園), associated with Ryokan (良寛); at lunch, eat while walking the old streets of Tamashima, which prospered thanks to the Kitamaebune ships. In the afternoon, enjoy water play at the fountain plaza until evening. It is a day that feels distinctly like Tamashima, where the history of a port town and water play come together.
