2026 Kurashiki Mirai Park Water Play Area: A Full Day of Fun
This is a course for a full day of nearby fun, starring the Kurashiki Mirai Park Water Play Area, which spreads across the north side of JR Kurashiki Station (倉敷駅). The water play area beside the Kokage Deck is a pop jet fountain whose water shoots up in time with music, drawing cheers each time a column rises. It has drinking fountains and handwashing facilities, so cleaning up after play is easy, which families appreciate. With a lawn plaza of about 2.1 hectares, combination play equipment, and an elevated wooden deck all on site, there is no shortage of places to play even once you tire of the water. Since it adjoins Ario Kurashiki and Mitsui Outlet Park Kurashiki, meals and extra supplies can be handled right next door. Use is free, but the water play area's operating season for 2026 has not been announced, so please check with Kurashiki City's information before you set out. In the morning, walk the white-walled streetscape of the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter (倉敷美観地区), just a short walk away, and enjoy a cool spell of learning at the Kurashiki Museum of Natural History (倉敷市立自然史博物館). Take your time over lunch at the adjoining shopping complex, then spend the afternoon sending up sprays of water at the play area. It is a day only Kurashiki can offer, where the charm of a tourist district and a large park are linked within walking distance.
