2026 Kiyone Furusato Fureai Plaza Water Play Area Full-Day Course
A course for a full day of play close to home, starring the Water Play Area at Kiyone Furusato Fureai Plaza in Soja City. The Water Play Area is a waterside of about 2,115 square meters built in the image of the flow of the Takahashi River (高梁川), with a fountain and shallow pools where you can dip your feet and play at leisure. The same grounds hold a swan pond, play equipment, tennis courts, a ground golf course and an outdoor cooking area, so each family member can choose how to spend the time. Use is free, but entering the water in ordinary diapers is prohibited, as is throwing stones or sand into the water, so make that promise with your children before they start. The 2026 operating period for the Water Play Area has not been announced, so check the Soja City information before you set out. In the morning, take in the Meiji-era Western architecture and local history at the Soja City Machikado Local History Museum, and for lunch eat unhurriedly at the public lodge Sun Road Kibiji at the foot of the Kibiji (吉備路) area. In the afternoon, move to the Water Play Area timed to when the sunlight softens. It is a day spent at a relaxed pace until evening at a waterside modeled on the flow of the Takahashi River.
