2026 Nagayama I-Park Water Play Plaza Babbling Stream Full-Day Course
A course for a full day of play close to home, starring the Nagayama I-Park (Juichibancho Greenway) Water Play Plaza Babbling Stream in Kasaoka City. The 100-meter shallow stream has a waterfall and stepping stones, and children get absorbed just walking along and following the flow. Anyone can use it free of charge with no permission needed, and there are tap-water showers and hand-washing facilities to use afterwards, which is something other water-play spots do not offer. In past years the stream has run from around May until the end of September, but the specific 2026 dates have not been announced, and it cannot be used during maintenance periods. Check the Kasaoka City information before you set out. In the morning, spend a quiet time with Japanese-style painting at the Kasaoka City Chikkyo Art Museum (笠岡市立竹喬美術館), just a short walk away, then head into the world of living fossils and dinosaurs at the Kasaoka City Horseshoe Crab Museum. Lunch is at the Kasaoka Bay Farm Roadside Station, under the wide sky of the reclaimed land. In the afternoon, return to the babbling stream and play with the flowing water until evening. It is a course typical of Kasaoka, where art, living creatures and water play connect in a single day.
