2026 Harumi Seaside Park Water Plaza: A Full Day Course

The Harumi Seaside Park Water Plaza (晴海臨海公園 水広場), on the coast of Otake City, is a new kind of water playground where pressing a switch releases mist from the ground for a set length of time. It occupies one corner of a park that opened in April 2022, and its season is remarkably long, typically running from around Wednesday 1 April to around Saturday 31 October. That means you can play with water not only at the height of summer but also on the pleasant days of spring and autumn. Use is free, and there are covered benches right beside it, so you can take turns resting out of the sun. The large play structure Robobo Factory stands close by as well, and being able to move back and forth between water play and the playground is one of this park's strengths. The ground does get slippery when wet, however, so please keep the one promise of no running inside the plaza. This one-day course begins at Kamei Park (亀居公園), the site of Kamei Castle (亀居城) on the hill in Ogata. After looking out over the Seto Inland Sea (瀬戸内海) and the industrial townscape from atop the stone walls, have lunch at Youme Town Otake, then spend a full afternoon playing at Harumi Seaside Park (晴海臨海公園). The sea breeze runs right through the park, so it stays pleasant into the evening.
