2026 Bihoku Hillside Park (国営備北丘陵公園) Jabu-Jabu Pond Full-Day Course
From Wednesday, July 1 to Monday, August 31, 2026, Jabu-Jabu Pond opens at Bihoku Hillside Park (国営備北丘陵公園) in Shobara City. Hours are 9:30 to 17:30 (last entry 17:00), and this water play area, about 40 m long, sits in the Bihoku Auto Village area. The water is less than 30 cm deep, shallow enough that even toddlers who have just started walking can wade in and play. Use of Jabu-Jabu Pond is free; only the park admission fee is required separately (free for junior high school students and younger). There is a simple changing room, and a dedicated parking lot next to the Bihoku Auto Village management center, so the layout works well even if water play is your only aim. In the morning, this course walks the pond shore at Ueno Park (上野公園) in central Shobara, then visits Hiba-no-Sato inside the park to touch on old rural village life, before spreading out lunch on the Great Lawn Plaza (大芝生広場). Because this is a highland park nestled in the Chugoku Mountains (中国山地), the breeze feels cool once you step into the shade, even at the height of summer. In the afternoon, take your time playing in the shallow water of Jabu-Jabu Pond until evening. It may be cancelled in rain or bad weather, so check the official website for the opening status before you set out.
