2026 Hiroshima Yugaku no Mori Hiroshima City Forest Park Jabu-Jabu Stream: A Full Day Course
Hiroshima City Forest Park, tucked into the mountains of Higashi Ward in Hiroshima City, is home to the Hiroshima Yugaku no Mori Hiroshima City Forest Park Jabu-Jabu Stream, a shallow flow built from greenery and rock. Rather than an artificial channel, it feels like a brook running through the trees, and simply dipping your feet in is wonderfully cool. Admission to the park is free, and playing in the water costs nothing (facilities such as the Insectarium charge separate fees). Shade, tables and chairs are nearby, so you can leave your bags and take turns resting while the children play. The 2026 opening period has not been announced yet, so check the official website for the latest information before you set out. This one-day course begins at the Hiroshima City Forest Park Insectarium, where live butterflies dance through the air. After taking in the world of insects, take a break with a packed lunch at a shaded table. In the afternoon comes the Jabu-Jabu Stream itself, where you can splash straight into the water running between the rocks. It is closed when the flow is high, such as after rain, so the trick is to aim for a day that follows a stretch of fine weather.
