2026 Jonofuchi Park Water Play Area Full-Day Course
This is a full-day course close to home, starring the Jonofuchi Park Water Play Area (Water-Friendly Plaza) in Jonofuchi Park in Minamitakai-cho, Matsuyama City. The summer 2026 opening period has not been announced, so please check the latest information in Matsuyama City's official guidance before you set out. Jonofuchi Park is a water-friendly park open free of charge all year round; the car park is available from 8:00 to 19:00 from April to September and from 8:00 to 18:00 from October to March. The water that wells up in the park is pure spring water selected as one of the 100 Famous Waters of Japan, and even in midsummer its coolness travels up from your feet. In the morning, visit Sairinji Temple, the 48th temple of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage right beside the park, and touch the story of this land where the legend of Kobo Daishi's staff lives on. At lunchtime, spread out your bento in the park's plentiful shade and play a while at the children's plaza with its combination play structure, swings, seesaw and sandpit. In the afternoon, move on to the water-friendly plaza, where you can walk through the shallow flow and splash water at each other; even small children can enjoy it safely. With a lawn plaza and convenience facilities in place, the charm is that you can take breaks and go at your own pace. The car park holds only 37 vehicles (including 2 accessible spaces), so an early arrival is recommended. Both admission and water play are free, so it is easy to head out on a whim.
