2026 Saijo Citizens' Park (西条市民公園) Flowing Water Facility Full-Day Course
This is a full-day course to enjoy close to home, starring the Saijo Citizens' Park Flowing Water Facility in Omachi, Saijo. The 2026 opening period has not been announced, and in most years the facility opens during the summer holidays, so check the city of Saijo's official information for the latest details before you set out. Saijo Citizens' Park is a 3.42-hectare district park that offers, besides the flowing water facility, an air dome, a multipurpose field, tennis courts, an exchange building and a lawn plaza, with a children's hall on the same site. Admission is free, making it a neighbourhood water play spot you can return to again and again on hot days. Saijo is known as a city of water thanks to its Uchinuki, wells where groundwater rises naturally to the surface, and this day is built to follow the story of that water. In the morning, first visit Railway History Park in SAIJO in front of Iyo-Saijo Station (伊予西条駅). A Series 0 Shinkansen and a Class DF50 diesel locomotive stand side by side, and the exhibits that let you sit in the driver's cab are hugely popular with children. Next, walk along the moat of the Saijo Domain Jinya Ruins (西条藩陣屋跡) and dip your hands into the cold water at an Uchinuki well in the town centre. In the afternoon, move to Saijo Citizens' Park and play in the flowing water facility until evening. Railways, a castle town, spring water and water play: this course links Saijo's appeal together in a single day.
