2026 Asakura Green Hometown Park Water Play Area: A Full One-Day Course
This is a one-day course to enjoy close to home, starring the Asakura Green Hometown Park water play area in Asakura-shimo, Imabari City (今治市). Imabari City's official guidance states that this year's water play period runs until Monday, August 31, but the starting date has not been announced. In summer it can be used on days other than Monday, and when Monday falls on a public holiday, Monday becomes usable and Tuesday unusable, so please be sure to check Imabari City's official page before you set out. Asakura Green Hometown Park is a free-admission park known as the birthplace of the Green Youth Corps, and you can play in the water in the waterway running through it. With walking paths, the Green Observation Deck, play equipment, tennis courts and the Art and Ancient Tomb Museum (美術古墳館), it is a place to spend a whole day immersed in greenery. In the morning, head to Towel Museum ICHIHIRO in the same Asakura area. You can watch the steps of making an Imabari towel up close, and even adults become absorbed in seeing thread turn into cloth. After lunch inside the museum, move to the park in the afternoon. First take in the Asakura countryside from the Art and Ancient Tomb Museum and the Green Observation Deck, then head for water play in the waterway. It is a course that connects Imabari's craftsmanship, the greenery of the countryside and the water in a single day.
