2026 Toyokawa City Akatsukayama Park Water Plaza Full-Day Course
This is a course for a full day of play close to home, starring the Toyokawa City Akatsukayama Park Water Plaza in Akatsukayama Park (赤塚山公園) in Toyokawa City. It is open year-round on a fiscal-year basis (April 1 to March 31 of the following year), and in 2026 the fountains resumed on April 29 after water-saving measures for the Toyokawa Canal (豊川用水) were lifted. The closing date has not been announced, so if you visit from autumn onward, check the official website to confirm it is operating. The roughly 300-square-meter shallow pool has a Line Fountain and a Pyonpyon hopping fountain, and there are covered benches, so adults can relax in the shade while keeping watch. Admission is free. The same park also has Gyogyo Land, gathering freshwater fish, Ani Ani Maaru, where you can meet animals, and Wakuwaku Park with its playground equipment, so the fun never stops even when the children tire of the water. In the morning, head to Toyokawa Inari (豊川稲荷), which is within walking distance. After enjoying an inarizushi lunch on the Omotesando approach in front of the gate, spend the afternoon playing to your heart's content in the park. The park is closed on Tuesdays, on the first weekday after a public holiday, and over the New Year period, and the cleaning closure days are July 28, August 4, August 12, August 18 and August 25.
