2026 Sakurabuchi Park Great Lawn Plaza Fountain Full-Day Course
This is a course for a full day of play close to home, starring the Sakurabuchi Park Great Lawn Plaza Fountain in Sakurabuchi Park (桜淵公園) in Shinshiro City. In 2026 it is scheduled to run from Wednesday, July 15 to Tuesday, September 15, with the fountain spouting at five-minute intervals from 10:00 to 16:00. Use is free of charge. Sakurabuchi Park, which follows the flow of the Toyokawa River (豊川), is a scenic spot also known as Sakura-ga-Fuchi of Mikawa, and the Great Lawn Plaza is an open space surrounded by groves and the river. Because the water rises every five minutes, children cheer again and again, including while they wait. In the morning, visit the Shitaragahara History Museum (設楽原歴史資料館), standing on the stage of the Battle of Nagashino and Shitaragahara. Through actual matchlock guns and battle records, parents and children can trace the events that took place here. For lunch, savor dishes made with Okumikawa (奥三河) ingredients and gohei-mochi rice skewers (五平餅) at Michi-no-Eki Mokkuru Shinshiro. In the afternoon, enter Sakurabuchi Park, enjoy the gorge view from the vermilion Kasaiwa Bridge (笠岩橋), and then send up splashes at the Great Lawn Plaza fountain. The operating period is only a plan, so please check the Shinshiro City official website for that day's operation before you set out.
