2026 Handa Piyolog Sports Park Day Camp Ground Chapuchapu Pond Full-Day Course
A course for a full day of play close to home, starring the Handa Piyolog Sports Park (Handa Sports Park) Day Camp Ground Chapuchapu Pond in Handa Sports Park, Handa City. The official listing says it runs from July 20 to around the end of September, with hours of 10:00 to 15:00. To use it you must report to the reception in the day camp ground management building, and it is cancelled in rainy weather. Because it closes at 3:00 p.m., the plan is built around touring the town of Handa in the morning and heading to the water early. Start the morning at the Niimi Nankichi Memorial Museum (新美南吉記念館), which stands in Yanabe (岩滑), where Niimi Nankichi, author of Gon the Little Fox, grew up. Next visit the Handa Red Brick Building, where the Kabuto Beer factory built in the Meiji period still stands, then move on to the Handa Canal (半田運河), lined with storehouses clad in black board fences. Having lunch as you walk along the canal lets you take in the air of this brewing town to the full. In the afternoon, play in the water at Chapuchapu Pond. There is a nursing room inside the management building of the athletics stadium, making this an easy park to get around even with a baby. The fee is not published, so please check the official information before you set out.
