2026 Miya no Mori / Kibajo Park Jabu-Jabu Pond (宮のもり・木場城公園 ジャブジャブ池) Full-Day Course
Miya no Mori / Kibajo Park Jabu-Jabu Pond (宮のもり・木場城公園 ジャブジャブ池) in Nishi Ward, Niigata City, is a free water-play spot where you can splash to your heart's content even though it sits right beside a residential area. The opening period has not been announced; in past years it has opened during the summer. Please check the City of Niigata's official page for this year's status before you set out. Within the 8,952-square-meter neighborhood park you will find, besides the Jabu-Jabu Pond, a babbling stream channel, Dragonfly Pond (とんぼ池), Wanpaku Plaza (わんぱく広場), a picnic lawn, a multipurpose field, a slide, and Kiba Fort (木場砦), the site that gave the park its name. Beyond simply getting into the water, you can look for creatures, move your body on the play equipment, or touch a piece of history at the fort ruins, so a single park lets you switch between different kinds of play. In the morning, drive north to Niigata Furusato Village (新潟ふるさと村), a much-loved roadside station. See the exhibits on the prefecture's seasons and history at the Appeal Hall (アピール館), then have lunch while browsing regional specialties at the Bazaar Hall (バザール館). In the afternoon, return to Kibajo Park, and first take a breather while looking out over the grounds from Kiba Fort. From there, move on to the Jabu-Jabu Pond and enjoy the water until evening. It is an easygoing summer day with short travel times, all within Nishi Ward, Niigata City.
