2026 Minami Waterside Park Full-Day Course
Minami Waterside Park in Tsubame City is a free water-play spot centered on ponds and channels where you can get close to the water and interact with living creatures. The water-play period has not been announced; the park itself is open around the clock, and the rest room is open from July 1 to August 31, from 9:00 to 17:30. Besides the waterside, the grounds have a hill for grass sledding and play equipment you will not see at other parks, so there is no boredom even when you are out of the water. The restrooms on the management building side can be used at any hour, so families with small children can relax. There are creatures living in the channels, and the very act of hunting for them with a net makes for a summer-holiday research project. In the morning, visit the Tsubame City Industrial Materials Museum (燕市産業史料館), just a short drive from the park. Trace the story of Tsubame, known worldwide as a producer of metal cutlery and tsuiki hammered copperware, through the actual tools and products. At the adjoining Experience Workshop Hall (体験工房館) you can try hammering and polishing metal with your own hands and understand the region's craft with your body. After lunch, spend the afternoon playing in the water at Minami Waterside Park. Touch the history of a manufacturing town, then close out the day surrounded by water and living creatures: it is a course built in a way that only Tsubame City could offer.
