2026 Rinshi-no-Mori Park Splash Pond: A Full-Day Course
In Rinshi-no-Mori Park in Shinagawa City there is a free summer-only water play area, the Rinshi-no-Mori Park Splash Pond. The 2026 season runs from July 1 (Wed) to September 30 (Wed), from 10:00 to 14:50. It operates in two shifts, a morning session from 10:00 to 11:50 and an afternoon session from 13:00 to 14:50, and closes every Thursday (except July 2) for inspection and cleaning. It is also cancelled in bad weather or on days when the temperature is 25C or below, so check the operating status before you set out. The venue, Rinshi-no-Mori Park in Shinagawa City, was originally a forestry experiment station, and its greatest strength is the fully grown trees that cover the grounds, letting you walk in the shade even at the height of summer. Admission is free and there are toilets in the park. There is no changing area, so wearing swimwear under your clothes will cut down on preparation time on site. In the morning you visit Meguro Fudoson Temple and take in the exhibits at the Meguro Parasitological Museum, which tickle a child's curiosity. For lunch, pick up old-fashioned prepared dishes and bread at the Musashi-Koyama Shopping Street Palm. In the afternoon you focus on water play in time for the afternoon shift: a neighborhood outing that can be done entirely by train.
