2026 Shioiri Park Fountain Water Play Area: Full-Day Course

Shioiri Park in Arakawa City has a free water play area, the Shioiri Park Fountain Water Play Area, that runs only in summer. The 2026 season is Wed 7/1 to Wed 9/30, and hours are typically 10:00 to 16:00. However, the official 2026 announcement does not state the hours, so be sure to check the opening times before you set out. Cleaning and inspection closure days are 7/10, 8/4, 8/12, 9/4 and 9/25, and Sat 8/1 is closed all day for a Bon Odori dance festival. The venue is Shioiri Park in Arakawa City, a large park stretching long and narrow along the Sumida River (隅田川), with a waterside promenade, a lawn plaza and large play equipment. The fountain uses a filtered recirculation system, and shoes must be worn to use it. Admission is free and there are restrooms in the park. In the morning, trace the history of the old downtown at the Arakawa City Furusato Museum and visit Ishihama Shrine (石浜神社) next to the park. At lunch, eat and cool off at LaLa Terrace Minami-Senju, then spend the afternoon focused on water play at the fountain.
