2026 Hatagaya Daisan Park Water Play Facility: A Full Day Course
Hatagaya Daisan Park in Shibuya Ward has a free summer-only water play area, the Hatagaya Daisan Park Water Play Facility. In 2026 it is open from Wednesday, July 1 to Thursday, September 24, from 9:00 to 17:00. It cannot be used on Friday mornings, which are cleaning days, and hours may change depending on weather conditions. The venue is Hatagaya Daisan Park in Shibuya Ward, set within a residential neighborhood within walking distance of Hatagaya Station on the Keio Line. Food and drink may not be brought in and pets may not enter the water, so having lunch at another park before heading over is recommended. In the morning, walk the Tamagawa Josui Old Waterway Green Path (玉川上水旧水路緑道) tracing the remains of Edo's water supply, then cool off in the children's section of the Shibuya Ward Central Library (渋谷区立中央図書館). At midday, spread out a packed lunch on the wide lawn of Yoyogi Park (代々木公園) and walk around the fountain before heading to the venue. In the afternoon, enjoy plenty of water play at the Hatagaya Daisan Park Water Play Facility until the 17:00 closing. Because it closes as late as 17:00, you can take the morning at a relaxed pace and still have ample time for water play. Everything connects by train and on foot, making this a light, easygoing neighborhood outing typical of central Tokyo.
