2026 Iriarai Park Water Play Area: A Full One-Day Course
Iriarai Park (入新井公園) in Ota City has a free water-recreation facility with a waterfall and a pond, the Iriarai Park Water Play Area. In 2026 it is scheduled to open from Tue, April 28 until around Wed, September 30, from 10:00 to 16:00. The closing date is not announced on the city official site, so late September is the usual guide. It is closed on the regular cleaning days of August 12 and August 25, so plan around those dates. The water is filtered and disinfected, but it is not drinkable. The site is Iriarai Park in Ota City, in a townscape within walking distance of JR Omori Station. Admission is free. In the morning, trace the history of the ward and the story of the Magome Writers Village at the Ota City Museum of Local History, then visit the Sanno Sodo Memorial Hall, where Tokutomi Soho's study remains. Walking through the garden surrounded by greenery, you truly feel that Omori was a place beloved by writers. Have lunch at the station building at Omori Station, and in the afternoon enjoy the water at the Iriarai Park Water Play Area until it closes at 16:00. Because it opens as early as the end of April, you can enjoy the water from the pleasant days of early summer. Everything connects on foot and by train, making for a calm day that feels distinctly like Omori.
