2026 Unoki Matsuyama Park Water Play Area: A Full One-Day Course
Unoki Matsuyama Park in Ota City has a free water-recreation facility with flowing water, the Unoki Matsuyama Park Water Play Area. In 2026 it is scheduled to open from Thu, April 30 until around Wed, September 30, from 10:00 to 16:00. The closing date is not announced on the city official site, so late September is the usual guide. It is closed on the regular cleaning days of August 3 and August 21, so plan around those dates. The water is filtered and disinfected, but it is not drinkable. The site is Unoki Matsuyama Park in Ota City, on high ground in a residential area within walking distance of Unoki Station on the Tokyu Tamagawa Line (東急多摩川線). Admission is free. In the morning, visit Tamagawadai Park, where burial mounds line a long, narrow hill overlooking the Tama River and the burial mound exhibition room lets you learn how ancient tombs were built through a model recreating the interior. For lunch, move to neighboring Denenchofu Seseragi Park and eat a bento in the shade beside the spring-fed pond. In the afternoon, enjoy the water at the Unoki Matsuyama Park Water Play Area until it closes at 16:00. Burial mounds, spring water, and water play — it makes for a day in which you take in the whole landscape along the Tama River.
Schedule
A cluster of burial mounds along a hill overlooking the Tama River, plus the burial mound exhibition room
A bento lunch in the shade, surrounded by a spring-fed pond and stands of trees
Plenty of water play in the shallow stream until the 16:00 closing
