2026 Kitamaebori Green Space Water Play Area: A Full One-Day Course
Kitamaebori Green Space (北前堀緑地) in Ota Ward has a free waterside facility with a flowing stream, the Kitamaebori Green Space Water Play Area (waterside facility). In 2026 it is scheduled to open from Tuesday 4/28 until around Wednesday 9/30, from 10:00 to 16:00. The closing date is not announced officially by the ward, so the end of September is the usual guide. It closes on the regular cleaning days of 7/27, 8/4, 8/17 and 8/28, so keep those in mind when choosing your date. The water is filtered and disinfected but is not drinkable. The venue is Kitamaebori Green Space in Ota Ward, a long, narrow green space created by filling in a former moat. Admission is free. In the morning, visit Haginaka Park, known as Garakuta Park (Junk Park), where real vehicles such as a Toden streetcar, a steam locomotive and a fire engine are on display and can be touched directly. Next, pray at Anamori Inari Shrine with its rows of red torii gates, then continue to Haneda Airport, where you can have lunch while watching takeoffs and landings from the Terminal 1 observation deck. In the afternoon, play in the water at the Kitamaebori Green Space Water Play Area until it closes at 16:00. It makes for a day that runs from vehicles of every kind into water play, in a way only Haneda can offer.
