2026 Keihin Kamata Park Water Play Area: A Full One-Day Course
Keihin Kamata Park in Ota Ward has a free waterside facility with a fountain, the Keihin Kamata Park Water Play Area (waterside facility). In 2026 it is scheduled to open from Monday 4/27 until around Wednesday 9/30, from 10:00 to 16:00. The closing date is not announced officially by the ward, so the end of September is the usual guide. It closes on the regular cleaning day of 8/7, so plan around that date. The water is filtered and disinfected but is not drinkable. The venue is Keihin Kamata Park in Ota Ward, in a town area within walking distance of Keikyu Kamata Station. Admission is free. In the morning, visit Rokugo Shrine, an old shrine carrying the legend of Minamoto no Yoriyoshi and Yoshiie, which has long watched over Rokugo, once a ferry crossing on the Tama River. From there, head out to Rokugobashi Green Space on the Tama River, walk the embankment above the wide riverbed and open your lunch in the river breeze. The sky is broad, and the view reaches the streets of Kawasaki on the far bank. In the afternoon, play in the fountain water at the Keihin Kamata Park Water Play Area until it closes at 16:00. It is an open, spacious day that links the grand scenery of the Tama River with water play in the middle of town.
