2026 Maruyama Park Splash Pool One-Day Full Course
Maruyama Park (丸山公園) in Nakano Ward has a free water play spot open in summer, the 'Maruyama Park Splash Pool' (丸山公園 じゃぶじゃぶ池). In 2026 it runs from Saturday, July 18 through Monday, August 31, open 10:00-16:00. There are two sessions, 10:00-12:00 and 13:00-16:00, and the pool is closed at midday for a changeover. The pool covers 42.5 square meters with a depth of about 35cm, one of the more spacious splash pools in the ward for a good play area. The water is tap water, refreshed daily and chlorine-treated, so hygiene is reassuring. It closes on rainy days or when the water temperature falls to 22C or below, so check the weather on the day. The venue is Maruyama Park Splash Pool in Nakano Ward, and admission is free. In the morning, visit Numabukuro Hikawa Shrine to pray, then look up at the Nogata Water Tower, a nationally Registered Tangible Cultural Property, from Mizunoto Park. At midday, spread out a picnic lunch on the wide lawn of Heiwa no Mori Park, then enjoy plenty of water play in the afternoon session — a full day out.
