2026 Sakaecho Park Wading Pool: A Full Day Course

In Nakano Ward's Sakaecho Park, there is the Sakaecho Park Wading Pool, where you can play in the water for free during summer. In 2026 it operates from Saturday, July 18 to Monday, August 31, from 10:00 to 16:00. It runs in two sessions, 10:00-12:00 and 13:00-16:00, and is closed at midday for the water change. The pool covers 50 square meters and is about 30cm deep, a good depth and size for playing while crouched down. The water is tap water, changed daily and managed with chlorine, so you can let children in with peace of mind about hygiene. It closes on rainy days and when the water temperature is 22C or below, so keep an eye on the weather that day. The venue is Sakaecho Park Wading Pool in Nakano Ward, and since it stays open until the end of August, you can also plan a visit near the end of summer vacation. In the morning, pick up lunch at Kawashima Shopping Street in Nakano-shimbashi, then spread out your bento under the deep tree cover of Sanshi no Mori Park. Enjoy plenty of water play in the afternoon session, a neighborhood outing that can be completed entirely by train and on foot.
