2026 Motomachi No. 1 Children's Park Wading Pool (元町第1児童公園 徒渉池) One-Day Course
This is a one-day course centered on the Motomachi No. 1 Children's Park Wading Pool (Infant Pool) (元町第1児童公園 徒渉池(幼児用プール)), which appears only in summer at Motomachi No. 1 Children's Park in Kanazawa City. It is open from Thursday, July 23 to Wednesday, August 5, Reiwa 8 (2026), from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Admission is free, which makes it easy to spend a casual summer-break afternoon splashing in the water. Only infants and toddlers accompanied by a guardian may use the pool, and elementary school-age children and older are not permitted. Swimwear is required; disposable diapers or swim diapers may not be used, and glass swim goggles and similar items may not be brought in. In the morning, head up to the observation deck at Utatsuyama Park (卯辰山公園), right behind the park, for a panoramic view of Kanazawa's cityscape and mountains. After heading back down the slope, walk the streets lined with wooden lattice doors in the Higashi Chaya District (ひがし茶屋街) and enjoy the quintessential Kanazawa townscape as a family. For lunch, fill up at Omicho Market (近江町市場), and it's a good idea to pick up drinks and a towel there as well. In the afternoon, return to Motomachi No. 1 Children's Park and spend time splashing freely in the shallow wading pool. The pool closes in the event of rain or other bad weather, so please check the forecast and on-site notices before you set out.
