2026 Shijima Kizuna Plaza Wading Pool (四十万きずな広場 徒渉池) One-Day Course
This is a one-day course centered on the Shijima Kizuna Plaza Wading Pool (Infant Pool) (四十万きずな広場 徒渉池(幼児用プール)), which appears only in summer at Shijima Kizuna Plaza in Kanazawa City. It is open from Thursday, July 23 to Wednesday, August 5, Reiwa 8 (2026), from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Admission is free, so you can spend a summer-break afternoon splashing in the water without a second thought. Only infants and toddlers accompanied by a guardian may use the pool, and elementary school-age children and older are not permitted. Swimwear is required, and disposable diapers or swim diapers may not be used. In the morning, head up to Daijoji Hillside Park (大乗寺丘陵公園) in southern Kanazawa City and take in the Kanazawa Plain from the wide lawns and observation plaza. Next, walk the quiet approach of Daijoji Temple (大乗寺), a Zen temple standing at the foot of the hill, and enjoy the cool air beneath the cedar trees. For lunch, spread a picnic sheet in the shade along Saigawa Ryokuchi Park (犀川緑地), which stretches along the Sai River, and relax over a packed lunch. In the afternoon, return to Shijima Kizuna Plaza and wrap up the summer afternoon splashing in the shallow wading pool. The pool closes in the event of rain or other bad weather, so please check the forecast and on-site notices before you set out.
