2026 Fukui Sports Park Water Play Area: A Full-Day Local Outing

Centered on the free water play area 'Fukui Sports Park Water Play Area (福井運動公園水遊び場)' at Fukui Sports Park in Fukui City, this course is a neighborhood outing packed with a full day of fun. In 2026, it is open from Monday, July 20 (a national holiday) through Monday, August 31, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It's located on the east side of the Prefectural Swimming Pool (県営水泳場), with a dedicated entrance next to the management building. The water is very shallow, just 0-5 cm deep, so even children who have just started walking can safely enjoy the water underfoot. Shoes must be removed to use the facility, and admission is free. In the morning, climb Mt. Asuwa (足羽山) to learn about Fukui's nature at the Fukui City Museum of Natural History (福井市自然史博物館), then spend some relaxed time with the animals at the neighboring Hapijan Petting Zoo (ふれあい動物舎「ハピジャン」) inside Asuwayama Park Amusement Park (足羽山公園遊園地). For lunch, cool off and eat at Shopping City Bell (ショッピングシティ・ベル), where you can also pick up anything you're missing.
