2026 Uminonakamichi Seaside Park Splash Pool: A Full-Day Course
A course for a full day of play centered on the 'Uminonakamichi Seaside Park Splash Pool' at the state-run Uminonakamichi Seaside Park in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City. In 2026, the water-play area, which had been closed as a drought countermeasure, reopens on Saturday, July 25 and is open through Sunday, August 30 during the park's operating hours (9:30 AM to 5:30 PM). Using the Splash Pool is free, so all you pay is the park admission fee (450 yen for adults, 210 yen for seniors, free for junior high school students and younger) to play all day, which is a nice bonus. Restrooms, accessible restrooms, a baby-care station, coin lockers, a first-aid facility, and an AED are all available, so you can relax even with small children in tow. Water-play shorts can be purchased at the shop inside Wonder Shuttle, so you can pick some up on site even if you forget to bring your own. In the morning, see the marine creatures of Kyushu's seas at the neighboring Marine World Uminonakamichi, then head to the Animal Forest inside the park to meet capybaras and kangaroos. For lunch, take your time eating at Wonder Shuttle, and in the afternoon it's finally time for the Splash Pool. Note that the park's 'Interactive Fountain' is currently closed due to a malfunction in its main equipment (with no set date for repair), so plan your water play around the Splash Pool alone. Access from Hakata is good too, making this a nearby outing where you can spend a relaxed summer day at a seaside park.
