2026 Kondonuma Park Splash Pool: A Full-Day Fun Course
This is a full day of fun centered on Kondonuma Park Splash Pool (Kondonuma Koen Jabu Jabu Ike), located in Kondonuma Park (Nakanuma) in Tatebayashi City. Because of renovation work, the splash pool is scheduled to open from early August in Reiwa 8 (2026) (it normally runs from early July to late August). Admission is free. The renewed pool is surrounded by large play equipment, and even just walking the path along the marsh makes for a pleasant park visit. In the morning, enjoy the Chiaki Mukai Memorial Hall for Space and Science, named after Chiaki Mukai, the first Japanese woman to travel into space, with exhibits ranging from the local natural environment to the universe and a 23-meter-diameter dome planetarium. Admission is free for junior high school students and younger. After lunch, visit the former residence of Tayama Katai, an author born in Tatebayashi, in the Rekishi no Mori (Forest of History) adjacent to the site of the former Tatebayashi Castle's main keep. In the afternoon, it's finally time to splash around at Kondonuma Park Splash Pool. The whole course stays within Tatebayashi City, making it a nearby outing with little travel.
