2026 Full-Day Course: Hitachi Seaside Park Water Play Plaza

This course centers on the 'Hitachi Seaside Park Water Play Plaza,' located near the central gate of this national park spread along the coast of Hitachinaka City, for a day of thorough fun in one area. In 2026, it's open from Saturday, July 18 to Monday, August 31, until 30 minutes before the park closes. The wading pools are split by depth-about 15 cm for toddlers and about 25 cm for children-so kids can play safely according to their age. There's also a 'water tunnel,' where a wall of water pours down from about 2 meters high, and a star-shaped fountain plaza where water shoots up forcefully from 50 nozzles, offering more than one way to play. Using the water play plaza itself is free-you only need to pay the park's admission fee to enjoy it. In the morning, visit Hoshiimo Shrine in Ajigaura and pass through its golden torii gates, a nod to the local dried-sweet-potato industry. Then enter the park, take in the ocean view from Miharashi Hill, and have lunch inside the park. In the afternoon, head to the water play plaza-a summer outing with very little moving around.
