2026 Kawachi River Pool Full-Day Course
This is a full-day course centered on Tosu City's Kawachi River Pool, open from July 18 to August 31, 2026. Kawachi River Pool sits upstream of the Kawachi Dam, and its defining feature is a design that makes the most of natural stones, with water drawn directly from the Ogi River. Unlike a concrete pool, it's a mountain-valley water spot where you can feel the texture of the stones underfoot and the chill of the flowing water just as they are. Best of all, it's free to use. In the morning, finish your shopping and an early lunch at Tosu Premium Outlets, then stop by Azumaya Shrine in Ushihara-cho and walk through the tree-enclosed grounds. In the afternoon, head up the mountain road to Kawachi River Pool. As the elevation rises, you can physically feel the air turning cool, and the water feels cold even in midsummer. It's a very Tosu way to spend the day, tasting both town and mountain in a single outing.
Schedule
