2026 Tako Town Funakoshi Pool Full-Day Course
This one-day course centers on Tako Town Funakoshi Pool in Katori District's Tako Town, open from Saturday, July 25 to Sunday, August 23, 2026. It's a community-rooted outdoor pool for residents that also hosts swim lessons during the season. Admission is affordable — free for toddlers, 100 yen for junior high schoolers and under, and 200 yen for high schoolers and up — making it easy on the wallet for the whole family. In the morning, start at Roadside Station Tako Ajisai-kan, a rest stop on the banks of the Kuriyama River, and walk the riverside promenade while browsing Tako-brand rice and local vegetables. Next, head to Nihon-ji Temple, known as the former site of the Nakamura Danrin seminary, for a break along the tree-lined approach and quiet grounds. Past midday, head to Tako Town Funakoshi Pool and enjoy a full afternoon of water play. All three spots are within a 10-minute drive of each other, so there's little travel burden even with young children. Spend a leisurely summer day in this town of rice-field scenery in northern Chiba.
