2026 Osaka Sayama Daishichi Municipal Pool: A Full One-Day Course

This is a one-day course centered on Osaka Sayama Daishichi Municipal Pool (Daishichi Municipal Elementary School), located at Daishichi Municipal Elementary School in Osaka Sayama City, open from Tuesday, July 28 to Monday, August 24, 2026. It is open from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the morning and from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the afternoon, with no closed days during the period. This initiative opens the elementary school's pool to the community, making it a natural gathering spot for neighborhood children during summer vacation. In the morning, visit the shores of Sayama-ike, said to be one of Japan's oldest irrigation ponds. Start at the Osaka Prefectural Sayama-ike Museum, known for its design by Tadao Ando, where large-scale exhibits let you experience the history of the pond and flood control, then walk the circular path of Sayama-ike Park to take in the water and scenery. After lunch, head to the pool in time for the afternoon opening hours and splash around until 4:00 PM. Since the whole route stays within the city, it's also an easy course to get around by bicycle.
