2026 Kobayashi General Sports Park Municipal Pool: A Full Day of Fun
2026 brings a one-day course centered on Kobayashi City's Kobayashi General Sports Park Municipal Pool (outdoor pool), opening on Saturday, July 25. Typically open from late July through the end of August, it features a 25m pool along with a children's pool, a toddler pool, and even a water slide. With lockers, a powder room, showers, a warming room, and barrier-free restrooms all in place, it's an environment where families with small children or those needing extra support can enjoy water play without worry. In the morning, start at Denoyama Park. The pond, fed by Kirishima's underground springs, has been selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Wellsprings by the Ministry of the Environment, and just gazing into its clear water conveys a sense of coolness. Next, head to Sannomiya Gorge, where the promenade running through tunnels carved into the rock stays cool even in the height of summer. Once past noon, move on to the pool and spend the rest of the day in the water until evening. At the foot of the Kirishima mountain range, this is a day only water-rich Kobayashi can offer.
