2026 Otsukadai Children's Pool: A Full Day Course
This is a morning-centered, one-day course built around Otsukadai Children's Pool (大塚台児童プール) in Miyazaki City, open from 10:00 to 12:00 from Thursday, July 23, 2026 through Monday, August 24, 2026. The children's pool measures 10m x 20m with two depths, 30cm and 50cm, and admission is free. Because the water is shallow, even small children who can't yet swim can stand and play on their own feet. Since the pool is only open for two hours in the morning, how you spend the time before it opens is key to planning this course. Start by walking the wide approach of Miyazaki Jingu Shrine and paying your respects in the clear morning air. Next, move to Heiwadai Park and stroll through the spacious grounds surrounded by trees, taking in the simple haniwa figures lined up in the Haniwa Garden. Then, after 10 o'clock, head to Otsukadai Children's Pool. Splash and play to your heart's content in the shallow water until the pool closes at noon. It's a free, easy-to-visit summer morning that feels distinctly Miyazaki.
