2026 One-Day Course: Hirowatari Dam Lakeside Park Pool
Running in two sessions per day from Saturday, August 1 to Sunday, August 30, 2026, this one-day course centers on the “Hirowatari Dam Lakeside Park Pool” in Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture. The highlight is a roughly 800-square-meter natural pool filled with water from the Hirowatari River, plus a 70-meter-long waterslide. Since it uses real river water, the chill feels different from a pool filled with tap water. With changing rooms, restrooms, lockers, an eatery, and parking for 70 cars, families can visit without worrying about facilities. In the morning, head to Nichinan's Obi castle town. Walk the townscape lined with stone walls and white walls, and cool off among the cedar groves at the Obi Castle ruins. In this calm town known as “the little Kyoto of Kyushu,” you won't be able to stop taking photos. A historical stroll through the castle town paired with a natural pool beside the dam lake—this itinerary lets you savor both Nichinan's mountains and its town.
Schedule
