2026 Oyabe City Pool: A Full Day of Fun
This is a one-day course centered on 'Oyabe City Pool' in Oyabe City, Toyama Prefecture, open from Monday, July 20 to Monday, August 31, 2026. It's an outdoor pool complex with a 50m pool, a 25m pool, and a children's pool, open 10:00-17:00 on weekdays and 9:00-17:30 on weekends and holidays (closed August 15). Admission is remarkably affordable -- 170 yen for adults, 90 yen for junior high school students, and 60 yen for elementary school students and under -- so you can visit as often as you like throughout summer vacation. In the morning, first head to Oyabe's symbol, Crossland Oyabe. From the observation deck of the 118m-tall Crossland Tower, you can see the scattered farmhouse villages of the Tonami Plain and all the way to the Tateyama Mountain Range. Next, head to Hanyu Gokoku Hachimangu Shrine, said to be where Minamoto no Yoshinaka prayed for victory in battle. The grounds, wrapped in a long stone stairway and a cedar grove, stay cool even in the height of summer. Once past noon, move on to Oyabe City Pool and enjoy playing in the water until evening.
