2026 Yumegaoka Park Pool Full-Day Course
This one-day course centers on Yumegaoka Park Pool (夢ヶ丘公園プール) in Kogushi, Toyoura-cho, Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture, open from Monday, July 20 to Monday, August 31, 2026. Set on a hill in Toyoura overlooking the Hibiki Sea, this park pool has a 25-meter, 7-lane pool along with a toddler pool with a slide. Elementary-age children and older can swim laps in earnest, while little ones can splash around on the slide again and again — a great setup for siblings of different ages to each enjoy in their own way. In the morning, visit the giant tree known as ‘Kawatana no Kusu no Mori’ (川棚のクスの森), a nationally designated natural monument, and be amazed that such a spread could come from a single tree. Next, walk through the town of Kawatana Onsen (川棚温泉), long known as a hot-spring bathing resort, and stop for lunch and a break. In the afternoon, head to Yumegaoka Park Pool and enjoy water play until evening. Toyoura, a short trip from central Shimonoseki, is a place where sea, mountains, and hot springs all come together — making for a deeply satisfying summer-vacation day.
