2026 Toyama City Inotani Pool: Full-Day Course
This is a one-day course centered on Toyama City Inotani Pool (富山市猪谷プール), open from Saturday, July 25 to Wednesday, August 26, 2026. It runs in two sessions, 10:00-12:00 and 13:00-16:00, and best of all, admission is free. With both a 25m pool (1.2m deep, 5 lanes) and a 45.71-square-meter kids' pool, both children who want to swim properly and those trying the water for the first time can enjoy it together. The venue, Inotani, is a settlement in a deep valley carved by the Jinzu River, and its biggest draw is that the air is noticeably cooler than in the city center. In the morning, first visit Toyama City Inotani Checkpoint Museum (富山市猪谷関所館), tracing the history of the border checkpoint the Kaga domain set up on the Hida-Etchu border through reconstructed displays and archival materials. Next, stop by Roadside Station Hosoiri (道の駅細入) for an early lunch while browsing local specialty products. Since the pool's break time runs from 12:00 to 13:00, spending that time here means no wasted waiting. Enter Toyama City Inotani Pool from 13:00 and spend the entire afternoon in the water. It's a quiet, pleasant day of cooling off in the valley of Jinzu Gorge.
