2026 Taidori Fureai Park River Pool: A Full Day of Fun
This is a one-day course centered on 'Taidori Fureai Park River Pool' in Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture. In 2026 it is open from Saturday, July 25 to Sunday, August 23. This river pool makes full use of a natural river, and the clear water and the feel of the riverbed stones underfoot captivate children in a way a concrete pool never could. The morning starts in the castle town of Obi, known as the 'Little Kyoto of Kyushu.' Walk streets lined with stone walls and white plaster, and proceed from the Otemon Gate of the Obi Castle ruins along a cedar-lined approach to be wrapped in the atmosphere of an Edo-period samurai town. Next, stop by Michi-no-Eki Sakadani to sample local flavors at a mountain farm stand. Past noon, move on to Taidori Fureai Park, dip your feet in the river water, and relax until evening. It's a summer outing unique to Nichinan, connecting a historic castle town with clear-stream water play in a single day.
