2026 One-Day Course: Machinaka Play Zone

This one-day course centers on the Machinaka Play Zone (MUCC Cement Exchange Plaza Giant Pool), appearing at MUCC Cement Exchange Plaza in Ube City from Saturday, August 1 to Sunday, August 16, 2026. The highlight is a large pool featuring a 10-meter-tall giant octopus and three slides. Designed for children aged 3 through elementary school, it offers a scale of water play rarely found in the middle of a city—climbing up the huge octopus-shaped structure and sliding down into the water. A separate small pool is provided for children under 3. Admission is 500 yen per child, with free entry for accompanying guardians. The pool is closed on Wednesdays, and with the season lasting only 16 days spanning the Obon holiday, it's best to plan ahead. In the morning, pray at Kotozaki Hachimangu Shrine and meet the animals at Tokiwa Zoo in Tokiwa Park, then spend the afternoon at the pool in the city center. This course links Ube's famous sights with a limited-time water play spot in a single day.
