2026 Kano Pool Full-Day Course
This full-day course centers on Shunan City's Kano Pool, open from July 18 to August 31, 2026. Kano Pool operates on a morning/afternoon changeover system, with an affordable admission of 150 yen per session (50 yen for high school students and younger). Located in the high-altitude Kano district, it stays cooler than the city center even at the height of summer, and the breeze after getting out of the water feels especially pleasant. In the morning, start at Kanyo-ji Temple, a Zen temple lined with four different garden styles - gazing at its pond gardens, which make skillful use of water, makes you forget the heat. Right nearby is Choonto, a tunnel carved through solid rock in the Edo period, where you can watch water still gushing out vigorously up close today. Next, visit Nisho Yamada Shrine and take a breather in its tree-shrouded grounds. In the afternoon, enjoy water play at Kano Pool. This is a course where you keep encountering water throughout the day - the water of the gardens, the water of the irrigation channel, and finally the water of the pool.
