2026 Yamagata Prefectural General Sports Park Outdoor Pool: A Full Day Course

This is a one-day course centered on Yamagata Prefectural General Sports Park Outdoor Pool (山形県総合運動公園 屋外プール) in the prefecture's General Sports Park in Tendo City, open from Saturday, July 18 through Sunday, August 23, 2026. It runs on a complete two-session swap system: Session 1 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, and Session 2 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The recreation pool area has a kids' pool, a lazy river about 200 meters around, a 100-meter tube slide, a 72-meter body slide, and a Wild Vern water slide, making it one of the most complete pool facilities in the prefecture. Right next door is a 50-meter pool certified by the Japan Swimming Federation (8 lanes, 180 cm deep, 200 cm at the center). In the morning, browse local fruit and specialty products at Roadside Station Tendo Onsen (道の駅 天童温泉), then learn about the town's shogi-piece-making history at the Tendo Shogi Piece Museum (天童市将棋資料館). Enter the pool in time for Session 2 and spend the time in the water until evening.
