2026 Kawamoto Town Pool One-Day Adventure Course
This one-day course centers on Kawamoto Town Pool in Kawamoto Town, Ochi District, Shimane Prefecture, which typically runs from Sunday, July 19 to Monday, August 24. The venue is Kawamoto Park. It has a 50m outdoor pool and a small pool with a slide, so kids who want to swim and kids who want to splash around can both spend time in the same place. Admission is remarkably affordable: 50 yen for toddlers, 110 yen for elementary and junior high school students, and 220 yen for high schoolers and up. In the morning, visit Kawamoto Otogikan, a hands-on facility where you can actually touch musical instruments and sound-making devices from around the world, and kids get absorbed in making their own sounds. Next, head to Dangyokei Gorge in neighboring Onan Town. It's a gorge carved by a tributary of the Gonokawa River, and surrounded by deep greenery and clear flowing water, the perceived temperature drops instantly. In this quiet town along the Gonokawa River basin, it's a day that connects sound, gorge, and splashing water.
