2026 Samurai-hama Seawater Pool One-Day Course
This one-day course centers on Samurai-hama Seawater Pool in Kuji City, open from Saturday, July 18 to Monday, August 31, 2026. Adjacent to the Kita-Samurai-hama Campground, this pool is carved out of the rocky shoreline by the sea. Although it sits on the open ocean with rough waves, the surrounding rock forms a natural breakwater, keeping the inside calm, a rare structure nationwide that lets you swim in seawater with little risk of being swept away by waves. The view of the Pacific Ocean stretching out before you is something an indoor pool could never offer. With coin showers, changing rooms, and flush toilets, families can visit with peace of mind. In the morning, take in the powerful cliffs and sea at Turigane-do, a scenic spot in Kuji City's Samurai-hama area, then have lunch and pick up Sanriku products at Roadside Station Kuji Yamase Dofukan before heading to the pool after noon. This course lets you experience the full power of the North Sanriku sea over the course of a day. Please check Kuji City's official information for opening dates and fees before you go.
