2026 Shobara City Soryo Swimming Pool Full-Day Course
This one-day course centers on Shobara City Soryo Swimming Pool in Shobara City. In a typical year it's open from Saturday, July 25 to Sunday, August 23, then closed until July 24 of the following year (except when used by schools). Admission is free. It's a pool that opens only for a limited stretch of summer in Soryo Town, surrounded by the satoyama countryside of the Chugoku Mountains. In the morning, start at Restore Station, Hiroshima Prefecture's first registered roadside station. Its eye-catching glass-dome building is lined with local vegetables and specialty goods, and there's a restaurant where you can dine while taking in the satoyama scenery. Nearby, along the banks of the Tabusa River, Earthwork Kawabe Park lets you enjoy a stroll by the water. Next, move on to Tabusa-no-Sato Sports Park — a spacious park with a multi-purpose natural-grass ground, a covered gateball court, and a ground golf course, perfect for getting active. In the afternoon, play in the water at Shobara City Soryo Swimming Pool. Since the opening period is short — about a month — it's a good idea to lock in your dates early.
